Psychology for All

The idea of writing such a textbook evolved from a study of the needs of the students of the psychology department at Maltepe University and the lack of relevant material on the market. Even if Psychology for AH seems to be prepared addressing the needs of psychology students in particular, in fact, it is intended for everybody who has a special interest in psychology and needs to use the English of psychology for academic professional purposes.

Each chapter in Psychology for Ali is independent, however, vocabulary words from earlier chapters are recycled in subsequent readings and activities. Therefore, I would recommend the users to follow the order given in order to maximize the benefit of recycling. One of my key concerns throughout the preparation of this book was the issue of clarity. I tried to take the 'naîve student perspective' into consideration as much as possible.

Another concern that I meticulously worked on was the content matter. Topics were selected from the introductory psychology curriculum to serve as vehicles for presenting the rhetorical functions, lexical constructions and vocabulary used frequently in the psychological discourse.
