The present book is a revised and enlarged edition of the archaeological guide to the ruins of Turkey, vvhich was first published in 1969. İt covers the period from prehistoric times to the end of the Roman era.

The book has been vvritten for those interested in archaeology and ancient history, as vvell as for the specialist. Detailed information about the ruins is presented in the main text, vvhich is intended to be read before the sites are visited. The plans and photographs are provided vvith concise cap-tions so that basic information concerning each site can be read on the spot.
